There is no account system and no support portal to log into — the extension has no idea who you are, so a bug report is the only way anything reaches us.
Reporting a video that will not download
This is the most common report, and it is usually one of three things: the stream is DRM-protected (Stasha refuses those), the site is one the extension cannot see because access has not been granted, or the format is genuinely unsupported. What helps most:
- The page address, if you are willing to share it. Nothing is collected automatically, so we only know what you tell us.
- What Stasha showed — "no video found", a specific error, or a download that started and stopped.
- Your browser and version, and the Stasha version from the extension's popup.

Questions that come up
Why will it not download from YouTube?
YouTube is not supported. In the builds distributed through the Chrome and Edge stores it is blocked outright, because both stores' policies prohibit it. Downloading from YouTube also breaches YouTube's own terms, which apply to you regardless of which browser you use.
Why does it refuse a video that plays fine for me?
Almost always DRM. Widevine, PlayReady and FairPlay streams play through a protected pipeline that decrypts inside the browser and never hands the video to an extension. Stasha detects those and stops rather than producing a broken file; it contains no DRM components and does not attempt to work around protection.
Nothing is detected on any page in Firefox.
Firefox grants extensions access to sites only when you allow it. Until then Stasha cannot read the page at all, and says so instead of claiming there is no video. Use the extensions button in the address bar to allow access for the site you are on.
Where do the files go?
Wherever your browser normally saves downloads. Stasha hands the finished file to the browser's own download mechanism rather than writing to disk itself.
Does anything get uploaded?
No. The only requests the extension makes are to the media you chose to download, from the same servers the page was already using. There is no analytics, no telemetry and no server belonging to us. The privacy policy lists every request it can make.
A download stopped partway through.
Large downloads are assembled on disk before they are saved, so an interrupted one can often be resumed rather than restarted. If it fails repeatedly on one particular site, that is worth reporting — it usually means the site expires its links faster than the download completes.
